Heart Evangelista puts her heart on her sleeve with single "Breathe You"

After being locked up for 15 years in her treasure chest, Heart Evangelista’s single “Breathe You” is finally out on all digital streaming platforms today, October 27. 

Released under GMA Music, “Breathe You” talks about the feeling of falling in love for the first time and knowing that there’s a forever to hold on to. 

The lyrics go, “Feels like the first time, and it seems like the last. Here in the nighttime, lost in one long caress. When I feel you beside me, and your eyes are locked into mine, I fly. When you say that you love me, you’re driving me out of my mind.”

According to Heart, “Breathe You” depicted her sense of independence in the early 2000s, beautifully composed by Jude Thaddeus Gitamondoc. 

The multi-talented actress shared with GMANetwork.com that one of her reasons for releasing the single is because it coincides with the times when we’re all encouraged to stay at home and live in the present. 

“‘Breathe You" is a song you can listen to when you chill, or you want to make emote on your bed or when you’re lounging around. That’s really the mood because everyone has to stay at home,” she said. 

“Also, I think that’s the reason why I want to release it as well. 

“The message of the song is probably just indulging yourself and diving into that moment that will eventually pass you by. So, we enjoy each moment with that person.” 

Despite the song being produced and recorded in the early 2000s, Heart said that it isn’t outdated. 

“I feel like it’s still very now and hindi siya dated,” she confidently declared.
