Here's why you should add Hong Kong to your travel bucket list
Hong Kong has always been a favorite destination of tourists, especially of Filipino travelers, as it offers something for everyone--from attractions to food to shopping destinations.
“Hong Kong has always been close to the hearts of Filipino travelers and it is one of Philippines' top travel destinations of choice,” Hong Kong Tourism Board regional director of Southeast Asia Raymond Chan said during the "Marvels in Hong Kong" media event.
The pandemic put a pause on travel for the past two years, but with restrictions slowly easing up globally, tourists have a chance to visit Hong Kong again.
Chan noted that the "0+3 travel measures" is a “significant milestone for Hong Kong.”
“Currently, visitors to Hong Kong are no longer required to undergo hotel quarantine with three-day medical surveillance period,” he explained.
But despite the hitch in global travel, Hong Kong continued to develop its tourism facilities and destinations in the past years to ensure tourists will have something new to look forward to when they return.
Arts and culture
Among the new developments is the 40-hectare arts and cultural district of West Kowloon along Victoria Harbour, where the M+ and Hong Kong Palace Museum are located.
Opened last year, M+ is the first global museum of contemporary visual culture in Asia and the 65,000-square meter museum has 33 galleries.
The Hong Kong Palace Museum, meanwhile, houses over 900 artifacts from the Palace Museum.
The museum's architecture is also worth noting as it combines traditional Chinese architecture with modern aesthetics.

The cultural district is also home to Xiqu Centre for Cantonese opera and other traditional theater, as well as the soon-to-be completed Lyric Theatre Complex for dance and theater productions.
Theme parks and attractions
It's impossible to talk about Hong Kong and not mention the "'happiest place on Earth."
Hong Kong Disneyland recently unveiled its new Castle of Magical Dreams and even started its new light show, “Momentous.”

Another family favorite is Ocean Park and last year, the park introduced its all-weather, year-round water park, Water World Ocean Park Hong Kong.
Water World has 27 indoor and outdoor attractions across five zones.

Also opened last year is the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in K11 MUSEA, the first and largest indoor Lego playground in Hong Kong.
One area to check out is the Miniland exhibit, which features some of Hong Kong's landmarks and streets in miniature Lego version.

Fans of the popular board game, Monopoly, will enjoy the one-of-a-kind themed attraction, Monopoly Dreams, which is inspired by the game.
Nature and outdoors
Hong Kong is a hotspot for food and shopping, but beyond its high-rise buildings lie pieces of nature waiting to be explored.
Aside from cultural districts and themed parks, Hong Kong is also promoting their great outdoors.
It boasts hiking trails and clear waters perfect for active tourists and just about anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
