Not only is Batangas close to Metro Manila, it's got so much to offer for those looking for a vacation!

Travel restrictions continue to loosen around the country, which is why a lot of travelers are now looking to make up for the lost time that could have been spent traveling because of the two-year change that the global coronavirus pandemic brought with it.

If you're one of the travelers that are now starting to travel again but don't want to take a chance with farther destinations as of the moment, Batangas is a good destination, especially since it is around two hours or less from Metro Manila, depending on the traffic situation.

If you're having second doubts about Batangas as a destination because you have no idea what to do there, Biyahe ni Drew has a few suggestions!

Lago de Oro

Lago de Oro is located in Brgy. Balibago, Calatagan, Batangas. It has a wakeboard facility, probably one of the closest to Metro Manila. Each wakeboarding session only costs P200 per hour, which makes it a fit for most budgets. Other than wakeboarding, paddleboarding is also an option.

Camp by the Cove

Camp by the Cove is another destination that is located in Balayan, Batangas. Visitors can do car camping or overlanding at Camp by the Cove for P500 per head, setting up their tent beside their car. Car camping or overlanding has been gaining popularity with average Filipinos and celebrities recently, with Sparkle artists Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos being two of them.

Athena River Resort

Opened in 2017, Athena River Resort in Brgy. Pooc, Balayano has grown from just one cottage to multiple ones. Visitors do not need to pay an entrance fee to get into the resort, although cottage rental can cost anywhere from P300 to P500.

Kalika Balayan

If car camping or overlanding doesn't look attractive to them, travelers can head to Kalika Balayan in Brgy. Tanggoy, Balayan, Batangas for a glamping experience. Kalika Balayan has a pool, and its tents have an adjoining jacuzzi, as well as an electric fan, air-conditioning, and two king-size beds. Prices ranging from P9,500 to PhP9,800.

Playground Duhatan Hill

Brgy. Duhatan's Playground Duhatan Hill is for athletic travelers, especially those with an interest in biking or cycling. The bike trail is open to all levels of bikers, who can choose from flat trails to steep ones. Those who don't bike can also choose to trek the trail.
