Metro Manila hotels included in the 2022 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards list

Travelers looking to have a staycation outside of the ones they were forced to take in their homes due to the global coronavirus pandemic can take some recommendations from the Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards, which recently named a number of Metro Manila hotels as part of its list.

The 13 hotels included in the list are Conrad Manila, Fairmont Makati, Hyatt Regency Manila City of Dreams, Makati Shangri-La, Marco Polo Ortigas, Nobu Hotel Manila, Nuwa Manila at City of Dreams, Okada Manila, The Peninsula Manila, Raffles Makati, Shangri-La at the Fort, Sky Tower at Solaire Resort & Casino, and Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

Of the 13, Conrad Manila and Makati Shangri-La got “Recommended” ratings. Meanwhile, Marco Polo Ortigas, Nuwa Manila at City of Dreams, Okada Manila, The Peninsula Manila, and the Sky Tower at Solaire Resort & Casino received five-star ratings.

Four-star ratings were awarded to Fairmont Makati, Hyatt Regency Manila City of Dreams, Nobu Hotel Manila, Raffles Makati, Shangri-La at the Fort, and Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

Meanwhile, two spas also made it to the list. Nuwa Spa Manila got five stars and The Retreat Spa at Okada Manila got four stars.

The Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards bills itself as “the only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas.” According to the group, they stay anonymously in the hotels they inspect for two nights, pay for their own expenses, and rates both the facilities and services provided. The five-star rating system they are using has been in place since 1958.

As for the meaning of its ratings, a five-star rating means an establishment has “outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.” A four-star rating means the properties are “exceptional” and offer “high levels of service and quality of facility to match.” On the other hand, a Recommended rating means the establishment is “excellent” with “consistently good service and facilities.”
