Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library to reopen after two-year hiatus

More than two years after it shut down, The Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library are ready to welcome guests once again starting on December 4.
The museum, which closed down in June 2019 for renovation, now features a new lobby “marked by distinctive Asian sensibility,” a gallery dedicated to artist-entrepreneur Fernando Zobel, and retail spaces.
Also added is a digital gallery, touted as the first in the country, fitted with eight giant screens for an immersive experience.
“The gallery enables visitors to digitally explore objects from the museum and library collections and engage in interactive and up-close conversations with art and history for free,” the museum said in a statement.
Marking the opening are five exhibitions including “Intertwined: Transpacific, Transcultural Philippines” exploring intertwined cultures through objects and artworks, and “Landscape into Painting: Fernando Zobel Serie Blanca” featuring the creations of Fernando Zobel.
The management aims to reach as many audiences as possible both here and abroad 24/7 by making use of available technology.
Thus the museum will be launching an app containing exclusive museum content.
The Ayala Museum webpage, meanwhile, allows users to book visits to the museum, sign up for workshops, view the collections, and access exhibitions and learning resources.
Excited to visit the museum? Management reminds the public to book in advance as admission to the museum will be limited for health and safety reasons.
“All guests visiting the museum and library, regardless of age, must be fully vaccinated and will have to provide proof of vaccination upon entry for the safety of all visitors and staff,” the museum advised the public.
