Historical Hotels of America bestowed honor on Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

Ever since it opened in 2010, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar has drawn attention around the country for the painstaking way it has conserved, rebuilt, and recreated historic Filipino homes. Now, even organizations outside the country are taking note.

A few days ago, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar was named by the Historical Hotels of America as the Best Historic Hotels Worldwide Hotel in Asia/Pacific. The honor is given to hotels that “best celebrate its history in the guest experience and provide exceptional customer hospitality and service.”

Historical Hotels of America was founded in 1989 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is its official program for “recognizing and celebrating the finest Historic Hotels.”

On its Facebook page, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar shared that it was “delighted and proud” to be given the honor, accompanying the post with a video showing the hotel's attractions.

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar has 63 heritage houses and 34 historically significant structures, such as the reconstructed Hotel de Oriente, which was the first luxury hotel in the Philippines. Hotel de Oriente was also the inspiration for American novelist Jennifer Hallock's novel of the same name.
