Anybody with their fingers on the pulse of current pop culture know all about the hit HBO show The White Lotus, a dark comedy anthology series that follows the guests and staff during a week spent at a luxury resort hotel.
Its three seasons have taken place in three fictional The White Lotus hotels, with the first season in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and the third currently airing season in Thailand.
Of course, these fictional resorts are shot in actual ones. Check out the list below to see the establishments where the three seasons of The White Lotus have been shot.
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
The first season of The White Lotus was set in Hawaii and was shot completely in the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, the only resort on Maui to receive both the AAA Five Diamond Award and the Forbes Five-Star Award.
First opened in 1990, the resort has been renovated twice. The first one was in 2007 worth $50 million at the time and then again in 2014, a renovation that lasted until 2016. It is owned by Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell and was also the location for the penultimate episode of the first season of the show Modern Family.
The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has 380 guest rooms and suites, with room types ranging from the 7,200 square foot Lokelani Presidential three-bedroom suite to a 600 square foot mountainside room. Room rates range from $1,180 (P67,729 based on current exchange rates) per night for the mountainside room to $31,000 (P1,779,368 based on current exchange rates) per night for the Maile Presidential three-bedroom suite.
Dining options include Wolfgang Puck's Spago, which serves a fusion of Hawaiian and California cuisine; Duo Steak and Seafood that serves breakfast and dinner, Ferraro's Restaurant & Bar that serves Italian cuisine, the Beachwalk Café, and Komo, which serves sushi and Japanese cuisine.
Spa and wellness treatments available at the resort include a variety of massages, facials, acupuncture sessions, as well as stem cell and exosome therapy. A salon for men and women is also available.
San Domenico Palace
The second season of The White Lotus was set in Sicily and the property that hosted it is also in Sicily. The San Domenico Palace is another Four Seasons property and is located above the Ionian Sea. On its website, the hotel invites guests to “experience the charm of a reimagined 14th-century Sicilian convent” and to stroll in its “magnificent Italian gardens”.
The San Domenico Palace offers accommodations that range from the 1,507-square foot Royal Suite to the 312-square foot superior room. Room amenities include king-sized beds in the superior room to a living room and dining room with a table for eight and a terrace with a hot tub for the Royal Suite. Room rates range from €2,490 (P153,742 based on current exchange rates) per night for the Sea-View premium room with terrace to €6,500 (P401,336 based on current exchange rates) per night for the 969-square foot Princess Cecilie Suite.
When it comes to dining, guests can dine at the Michelin-starred Principe Cerami that features Sicilian cuisine. They can also take their pick between the Italian restaurant Rosso, the Anciovi Seafood Restaurant, and the hotel's bar and chiostro. Hotel guests can also pamper themselves at the Botanica Spa, which offers treatments like a hydrafacial, massages, and body scrubs and wraps.
Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui
The currently airing third season of The White Lotus was shot at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, which was opened in 2007 and is located on a former coconut plantation with a view of the Gulf of Siam.
The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui has 71 villas, with 11 of those being private residence villas. The most luxurious of the accommodations is the five-bedroom residence villa with pool, which can house up to 15 adults and comes with a personal residential assistant. Room rates start at ฿46,800 (P79,000 based on current exchange rates) per night for the Serenity Pool Villa to ฿347,800 (P587,015 based on current exchange rates) per night for the five-bedroom residence villa with pool.
Dining options at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui include the Koh Thai Kitchen that serves Southern Thai cuisine, the Koh Bar, the Pla Pla restaurant that serves seafood and grilled meats, the Cocorum poolside bar, and the Rum Vault, the first and only library of rums in Asia.
The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui also offers The Secret Night Ritual, a spa experience that involves Tibetan singing bowls, a warm lava shell massage, and a coconut and lotus petal bath in the guest's private villa. The treatment starts at ฿36,000 (P60,780 based on current exchange rates).
