When Glaiza De Castro first went to Baler, she found the unassuming, friendly small town in the province of Aurora as a perfect spot to give her life a sense of balance again.
It was in 2018 when Glaiza was doing the highly-rated GMA Afternoon Prime series Contessa, her co-star Rafael Rosell introduced her to the coastal town that faces the Pacific Ocean.
"Wala akong kakilala sa Baler pero no'ng time kasi na ginagawa ko 'yung Contessa, 'yun 'yung time na napapadalas na ako mag-beach, tapos nag-start na ako mag-surf," she told GMANetwork.com for her Kapuso Profiles feature.
"No'ng pumunta 'ko do'n, parang may feeling ako na ang saya naman dito, okay pala dito. So, na-experience ko lang siya fully no'ng 2020, no'ng ando'n ako for three months straight, 'yun 'yung pinakamahabang time na nasa Baler ako."
In Baler, Glaiza found the place where she had a fantastic opportunity to be friends with the locals and to introduce herself not as a celebrity but as a person.
"I was able to get in touch with the locals. Nagkaroon ako no'ng mga kaibigan do'n at masasabi ko na sobrang welcoming nila at ang sarap sa pakiramdam na hindi ka rin nila nakikita bilang artista. Parang no'ng time na 'yun, estudyante ako ng buhay kasi na-in love ako sa lifestyle, tapos sabi ko ang sarap ng ganitong balanse.
Now, Glaiza, who is set to star in GMA Afternoon Prime series The Seed of Love, is ready to share Baler with the rest of the world as she officially opened her bed and breakfast called Casa Galura.
"Thrilled to share that I've partnered with @airbnb to offer a special stay in @casagalura for one weekend, for only Php 2,023 per night from May 26 - 28!" she happily announced on Instagram.
"Baler is a beautiful, peaceful town with so much to offer, and I'd love to share with you how best to explore this beautiful placeā she said.
"If you prefer to stay home to rest and recharge, Casa Galura is the perfect spot to spend time with your loved ones," she added.
Aside from a bed and breakfast, Glaiza and her husband, David Rainey, also have a coffee shop business named Brew Box Baler.
