Japanese store Books Kinokuniya is now in the Philippines

Philippine bookstore Fully Booked is joining forces with Books Kinokuniya from Japan to bring a wide selection of Japanese literature to Filipino readers.
Fully Booked x Kinokuniya just had its soft opening on November 17 at the new, Japanese-inspired Mitsukoshi Mall in Bonifacio Global City.
Shelves of manga, graphic novels, and books written by Japanese authors are now available in the branch.
The selection of manga in the Mitsukoshi BGC branch will surpass the Fully Booked flagship store at Bonifacio High Street.
Fully Booked managing director Jaime Daez told GMA News, “Bookworms can expect the typical Fully Booked range and curation of titles at our branch in Mitsukoshi BGC -- with a special spotlight on manga, both in Japanese and English languages."
"With half of the branch earmarked for manga, we hope that manga readers will be delighted with the assortment of titles available. With the opening of a Japanese themed mall, we felt it was the right time to take it to the next level and offer Filipino readers a really extensive range of Japanese manga never before seen in any of our stores,” Daez said.
Aside from the expanded Japanese selection, the new branch features a graphic wall mural on its storefront designed by renowned New York-based Japanese illustrator, Yuko Shimizu.
In 2019, Fully Booked has been working with Books Kinokuniya to expand the selection of Japanese books and manga in the Philippines.
Their shared space at Mitsukoshi BGC will be offering Philippine's biggest and widest range of manga in one store.
