Saab Magalona called on her Instagram followers to show kindness and support to parents of children with special needs.

Raising a child is difficult enough as it is, and the challenges are doubled when it comes to raising one with special needs. Saab Magalona knows this all too well, and she posted an encouraging message on her Instagram account to all other parents of a special child out there.

In the post, Saab relayed several disappointing incidents of other people subjecting her and her child Pancho to “not-so-pleasant” comments such as “sayang naman” “gwapo pa naman” or “awang awa kami sa anak niyo.”

Saab says that even if she and husband Jim Bacarro felt like they were prepared for this, she revealed that in the moment, they actually found themselves too shocked to respond. She then went on to reiterate that Pancho is their “pride and joy” and “source of happiness.”

This isn't the first time that Saab has been open about what it is like to raise a child with special needs. In October of last year, Saab shared her struggles in disciplining Pancho because of the fact that he has special needs. This ended up having a negative effect as Pancho grew to become demanding. Thankfully, Saab and Pancho were able to curb this by trying a different approach in their disciplining.

As stated in another of Saab's vlogs, Pancho had serious complications when he was born, including ventriculitis, pulmonary hypertension, sepsis, and intraventricular hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain), resulting to his confinement in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
