As she undergoes her “me time,” Solenn cooks and gives advice to everyone on how to become the best version of themselves.

In a recently uploaded Lost in the Sos vlog on her YouTube channel, Solenn Heussaff is taking the day off and making time for herself by cooking her favorite healthy recipes.

While she cooks her own scrumptious Vegan Thai Ramen, the Sparkle artist shares why she values “day offs” and “me times.” For Solenn, spending time on your own allows you to recharge and become a better version of yourself.

“It's important to take time off for yourself because you need to be the better version of yourself for the people you love. In order to do that, I would suggest taking time like this. I love to cook, I enjoy it. Go outdoors if you want to take a stroll or take a walk. Delete the negative people in your life,” she says.

Take the time to do what nourishes your soul, mind, and body. Solenn says sometimes negative occurrences happen because they have been triggered by something beneath the surface or something simply by not being able to consume food.

She shares, “Most of the times when we feel bad it's because there's something going on internally. So it could be that you're hungry. That could be the start of your downhill swirl. If you're hungry, you're in a bad mood. If you're in a bad mood, everything you see around you is negative. If you think that everything is negative then you start blaming yourself, 'Why am I being like this?' and it keeps going down down down.”

To avoid spiraling into a pessimistic mindset, Solenn says you should find out the root cause by being with yourself and getting in touch with your feelings for a moment. “Try to assess the burning point or where it starts from. For that again, there is meditation, there is walking, there is talking to good people. Take your time, also guys, because it doesn't happen overnight,” she says.

As she cooks the second recipe, Rice Paper Spring Rolls, Solenn explains why it's important for her personally to take a break from the rest of the world. She says, “The reason you need time off is that I know especially when you become a mom you are always focused on doing this for a child, cooking this for a child, taking care of the household chores, and taking care of your husband but you tend to just kind of forget yourself in the midst and when you forget yourself you end up having self-doubts at some times or you're just feeling down and dull and that can spiral into many things you don't want to get into. So it's nice to just remind yourself, in order for you to be good to others, you need to be good to yourself.”

And with being good to yourself, there shouldn't be any space for guilt. Solenn says, “Sometimes with everything going on in this world, you kinda feel a bit overwhelmed and you have self-doubts and everything. So I make sure to take time for myself and do things like this to tell myself that I love me and that I'm important. Just make sure not to feel guilty and enjoy the time you deserve.”
