Andi Eigenmann's relationship with her kids is built on trust

There's no one-way ticket to parenting as families across the world vary and have different sets of cultural backgrounds. But for former actress, Andi Eigenmann, what makes her relationship with her kids seamless is the trust that revolves around it.
In a recently uploaded video in their Happy Islanders vlog, Andi Eigenmann and her fiancé Philmar Alipayo can be seen teaching their little kids, Lilo and Koa, how to surf.
Little Lilo, who's almost three years old, is seen in the video happily paddling on a surfboard and riding the baby waves. With her parents nearby, she is standing all by herself on her cute, little surfboard and showing her skills off.

Koa, who's only one year and four months old is also seen in the video riding a surfboard with the help of Philmar. The toddler was also able to stand on the surfboard on his own. Both kids were gleefully playing with their local friends and seemed to be enjoying the island life activities.

Andi took to Instagram what she learned about her kids after their fun and relaxing surfing session.
In the said post, she says, “I find that a great way for little ones to learn a new skill, is simply by letting them have a go at it! Trust them as they explore their (capabilities) and support them as they push themselves to try.”
For Andi, trust and support play a huge role in her kids' growth as individuals. She believes that these two are essential in having her kids discover their identities and capability.
She further explains in the caption, “Lilo has been leveling up on her swimming skills by the day, and I see that its having playmates around and being able to do fun activities in the water that motivate her to do so. Like surfing!”
Lilo and Koa might soon be following in the footsteps of their father, Philmar Alipayo, who's a famous professional surfer and was ranked as the number one surfer in the Philippines in 2017. Andi and Philmar, however, don't expect their kids to be professional surfers but rather allows them to create their own path.
In Andi's post, she admits, “It doesn't matter if they eventually opt to explore different things as they get older. That's what makes life more enjoyable after all. But what a simple joy it is to see them love the life we are able to offer them. Not by force, but by nature.”
The family is currently residing on the island of Siargao and has recently opened their very own surf school, shop, and snack bar.
