Tinder adds Blind Date feature

Missing the excitement that comes from being on a blind date but not willing to risk going out during a pandemic? Tinder's new “Blind Date” feature is meant for you.
The dating app recently unveiled the feature in the United States and will be introducing it to the rest of the world in the coming weeks.
Users can use the Blind Date feature by going to the Explore section of Tinder. Once there, users will have to answer a number of icebreaker questions and will then be matched to other users that have similar answers. Just like a physical blind date, both users will have a set amount of time to chat and get to know each other after they've been paired up. Users can then swipe left or right after the conversation and then find out if they are a match.
Tinder reports that there are “40 percent more matches” for those who used the Blind Date feature compared to the app's Fast Chat feature.
According to Tinder's VP of Product Innovation Kyle Miller, the company wanted the “mix of anticipation and excitement” that comes when going on a blind date.
“There's something really special about letting conversation introduce someone's personality, without the preconceptions that can be made from photos. The new Blind Date experience brings a surprisingly fun, banter-based way to interact and create connections that's all new to Tinder,” he explained.
However, if you still want an actual physical date this Valentine's Day, be sure to have your face mask on and vaccination card with you as there are restaurants open and accepting guests for the occasion. Check them out in the gallery below.
