The APO Hiking Society, simply known as APO, is one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and has produced some of the most popular Filipino songs. The group is composed of Jim Paredes, Danny Javier, and Boboy Garrovillo.
In 2010, after 40 years that spawned 22 record albums and countless songs, the group announced its retirement. And on October 31, Danny passed away due to complications from a prolonged illness at the age of 75.
Despite his passing, fans and music lovers alike continue to listen and take in the music of the APO Hiking Society. As Boboy aptly puts it, Danny lives on in his music.
