Kidlat Tahimik's 'INDIO-GENIUS' exhibit is now at the National Museum

The exhibition of National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik has officially been unveiled at the National Museum of the Philippines in Manila.
The exhibit entitled, “INDIO-GENIUS: 500 Taon ng Labanang Kultural (1521-2021),” can be viewed by the public starting this Saturday, October 22, along with the highly anticipated reopening of the National Museum of Anthropology.
In a Facebook post, the National Museum said the exhibit features installations that depict the National Artist's “quirky retelling of our cultural struggles throughout history.”
The museum said Kidlat Tahimik and his fellow Indio-Genius conducted a ceremonial performance during the exhibit's launch.
“[B]eginning with a 'reenactment' of his cultural reawakening followed by various incantations by notable members of ethnolinguistic groups who have collaborated with the National Artist through the years,” it continued.
The launch of “INDIO-GENIUS” also marks the start of the third week of the Museums and Galleries Month.
Late last month, the National Museum has highlighted the events and activities they have lined up for the occasion.
Meanwhile, Kidlat Tahimik first showcased the exhibit in Spain, which gave a virtual narrative of the country's history under colonialism.
