Jersey Michael Jordan wore in 1998 NBA Finals sells for $10 million

Basketball fans had a chance to reminisce about Michael Jordan's stellar basketball career while watching the ESPN/Netflix documentary The Last Dance, and now a wealthy basketball fan has the jersey Michael wore during the season chronicled in that documentary.
According to the Sotheby's auction house, they have sold a jersey worn by Michael Jordan during Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals, his last title victory before retirement, for a record $10.1 million or P579,128,950 based on current exchange rates.
With its $10 million price tag, the Michael Jordan jersey now becomes the most expensive sports memorabilia ever sold, beating the record set by Diego Maradona's “Hand of God” jersey, which sold for $9.3 million or P533,257,350 at a Sotheby's auction.
It also beats the record set by a Kobe Bryant jersey for a game-worn basketball jersey. The jersey worn by Kobe from 1996 to 1997 was autographed and sold for $3.7 million or P212,156,150 based on current exchange rates.
Memorabilia easily sells for huge prices on auction. Back in June, a rare LeBron James trading card was put up for auction at $6 million or P344,037,000 based on current exchange rates.
In March, another trading card sold for huge money. A rare 1999 Pokémon Base Set Shadowless 1st Edition Holo Charizard card sold for $420,000 or P24082590.
Recently, an unopened first generation iPhone sold for $35,414 or P2,030,621 at auction. The phone came in a brand-new factory-sealed box, which indicates it was made in 2007, the iPhone's earliest production year. The image of the original iPhone, along with its initial 12 icons, are featured on the box.
Back in June, a collection of Nike Air Force 1s sold for $502,362 or P28,805,185 based on current exchange rates.
