Historical buildings in Vigan damaged due to earthquake

Filipinos in the Ilocos region and several parts of Metro Manila and Luzon had a shocking start to their morning as a magnitude 7.3 quake hit the island, with its epicenter at Lagangilang, Abra.
While it is too early yet to form a complete picture of the damage wrought by the earthquake, photos are already appearing online and in messaging apps of damage to historical buildings in Vigan.
Facebook user Gerry Cacanindin has shared some photos of the damage to the facade of the Vigan Cathedral and some structures in the historic town.
The GMA News Breaking Twitter account also shared footage of pieces of the Vigan Cathedral facade falling off.
