Kyline Alcantara hailed as the newest ambassador of Korea Tourism Organization in PH
Kyline Alcantara indeed took her passion for the Korean culture up a notch when she was made the newest honorary ambassador for Korean tourism in the Philippines.
Korea Tourism Organization's (KTO) Manila director, Hyung Joon Kim, announced that the Sparkle artist will be the newest honorary ambassador to represent Korea to Filipinos.
“We are very pleased to welcome our new Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism in the Philippines, Ms. Kyline Alcantara,” said the KTO Manila director at a press conference held at Shangri-La The Fort yesterday, April 28.
Avid fans and supporters of Kyline would know that the Kapuso actress is a huge fan of the fashion in Korea as well as of their food, dramas, and music. She even uses Kdramas as her guide to better improve her skills in acting.

That's why when she received the news from her handler about the wonderful opportunity, she didn't believe it at first.
Kyline shared, “Sobrang unexpected, sobrang unbelievable kasi fan ako ng Korean drama ever since I was 11. And now na ako'y honorary ambassador ng Philippines sa Korea and would me knowing that I might meet some actors and actresses, I'm excited and, of course, gusto ko rin makilala ng Pilipinas yung culture ng Korea.”
In the process of choosing an ambassador, KTO Manila director Hyung Joon Kim shared that they picked Kyline out of all the choices because of a few factors.
He explained, “First, Kyline is interested in Korean culture and heritage. Another reason is that she has wide range of charms and talents - she's an actress, a singer, and a performer.”

There's no doubt about that. Even during the press conference, as Kyline was introduced to the public, she shared a special number where she sang one of the OSTs of the Filipino version of the Korean drama While You Were Sleeping, which Filipino-dubbed version was shown on GMA Network.
Aside from being multifaceted, Kyline was also chosen because of her reach in social media.
The KTO Manila director said, “Kyline is one of the Philippines' most promising and influential young actresses and is active in a lot of SNS platforms, with over 19 million followers across her accounts. We believe that through her good image and influence, she can help us to reach and encourage more Filipinos to be potential supporters of Korea tourism like herself.”

As the new honorary ambassador, part of her duties and activities is to visit Korea and share her experience through her social media accounts as well as promote Korea by participating in the events arranged by KTO and other Korean government agencies.
Kyline will be officially launched as the newest honorary ambassador to the public on April 30 at KTO's first offline event in 2022, “Ganda Korea DIY Travel Seminar.”
The seminar is said to be the Kapuso Sparkle artist's first stint as an ambassador and will help promote and educate Filipino travelers to gain knowledge about Korea's accessibility and safety during the ongoing pandemic.
The event will be held at the SM North Edsa Skydome in Quezon City and is free for everyone. Just make sure to pre-register.
