Manny Villar remains the wealthiest Filipino on Forbes list

Forbes just released their 36th Annual World's Billionaires List and revealed that among the 20 Filipino billionaires who made the cut, real estate tycoon Manuel "Manny" Villar remains to be on top and is currently still the richest Filipino in the Philippines.
According to Forbes, Manny Villar's estimated net worth increased up to $8.3 billion or around ₱426.37 billion this 2022 which is over $1 billion higher than his reported total assets in 2021.
The former Senate President and House Speaker's rank in the Forbes World's Billionaires List rose up to 263rd from being 352nd last 2021.
The real estate mogul's biggest asset to date is his stake in Golden MV Holdings, formerly known as Golden Bria, which is a developer of mass housing projects and condos.
Manny Villar also owns a home improvement chain; AllHome, a supermarket chain; AllDay Marts, as well as mall operator Vistamalls.
Aside from that, the billionaire is also the man behind property developer Vista Land & Lifescapes which is notable for its development of various condominiums, subdivisions, malls, and other projects.
Following Manny Villar on the list of Forbes World's Billionaires is the man behind International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), the country's leading ports operator, Enrique Razon Jr. He ranked 369th this 2022 with an estimated net worth of $6.7B or around ₱344.71B.

The third wealthiest Filipinos in the country who both ranked 1096th on the Forbes World's Billionaires List are Henry Sy Jr. and Andrew Tan. Both of them have an estimated net worth of $2.8B or ₱144.06B.
Henry Sy Jr. is the eldest son of SM Investments founder, the late Henry Sy Sr. and is also currently the chairman of SM Prime, the group's property arm which is notable for its development of malls, residences, offices, hotels, and convention centers.

Andrew Tan, on the other hand, is the current chairperson of Alliance Global which is a holding company with interests in food and beverage, gaming, and real estate. He was able to build his fortune by developing large apartment complexes around Manila.

Following the two are the Sy Siblings, Hans Sy, Herbert Sy, Harley Sy, Teresita Sy-Coson, and Elizabeth Sy.
Both Hans Sy and Herbert Sy ranked 1196th on the Forbes World's Billionaires List and have an estimated net worth of $2.6B or ₱133.77B.

Lance Gokongwei came after and ranked 1818th on the list with an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion or ₱82.32B. He is the only son of the late John Gokongwei Jr. who founded JG summit and the person who started Robinsons Retail in the '80s.
Three Filipino billionaires landed on the 2324th spot on the Forbes World's Billionaires List and came after Lance Gokongwei. Monde Nissin's Betty Ang, LT Group's Lucio Tan, and Converge ICT Solutions' Maria Grace Uy all have an estimated net worth of $1.2B or ₱61.47B.
