
Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda shared he trusted the creators and cast of Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical so much that he finally gave the nod to pursue the huge production despite believing that their songs are not “good enough” to be treated in such a way.

The creators of the musical promised that the audience would feel a rollercoaster of emotion while watching the show.

Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical features 47 iconic songs from OPM band Parokya ni Edgar led by Chito Miranda.

Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical will run from April 26, 2024 to June 8, 2024 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. It stars Marynor Madamesila, Natasha Cabrera, Kyle Napuli, Tex de Leon, Noel Comia, Pepe Herrera, Nicco Manalo, and Jasper Jimenez

Aside from the story, the names of the cast are inspired by the songs of Parokya ni Edgar to pay homage to the culture that the band created over the years. Parokya's songs are reimagined with a 14-piece orchestra.

The creators of the show shared that they found a good contrast between the songs of Parokya ni Edgar which are told from a male's POV and a story with an all-female cast. They took this challenge to tell the story of female protagonists using songs made by an all-male band.

Parokya ni Edgar's musical needed to be different from Eraserheads' musical Ang Huling el Bimbo. To ensure this, the creators ventured to a lighter and happier storyline compared to AHEB.

Musical director and arranger Ejay Yatco noted that the musical's priority is to tell its story effectively using the rearranged songs of Parokya ni Edgar while still paying tribute to the culture that the band honed over the years. Some songs are “non-negotiable” and should be part of the show.

Buruguduystunstugudunstuy's choreographer Stephen Viñas shared that they made new vocabularies and styles that should tell the story of the musical as effectively as possible.

Costume designer Raven Ong shared that they did their best to make sure that the roles, personalities, and stories of the characters are felt through their clothing and costumes.
