Rafael Nadal, 'extremely proud' of Pinay tennis prodigy Alex Eala

Filipina tennis prodigy Alex Eala brought pride and joy to FIlipinos and tennis fans all over the world after winning against world No. 2 and five-time Grand Slam champion, Iga Swiatek, in the Miami Open, securing her spot in the semifinals round of the tournament.
After her win, tennis icon Rafael Nadal penned his congratulations for the 19-year-old tennis player, who graduated from the Rafa Nadal Academy in June 2023.

At the same time, Nadal reshared the video of Alex's winning moment on his Instagram Story.
In his caption, Nadal wrote, โCongratulations, @alex.eala! Let's keep dreaming!โ
Days before the quarterfinals, the official X account of Rafa Nadal Academy also shared a photo of Nadal and Swiatek with Eala at the latter's graduation at the academy.

Alex is making headlines in different parts of the world after defeating three champions in a row, namely Jelena Ostapenko (ranked No. 25 in the world), Madison Keys (ranked No. 5), and Iga. She will face world No. 4 Jessica Pegula in the semifinals.
