Fans play alongside pro gamers in this gaming convention

Gaming is more than just a hobby or an activity to pass time because it has become a competitive sport especially among the young generation. Local pizza chain, Greenwich, acknowledges the importance of gaming and creating a space for gamers today.
Last Wednesday, July 31, the pizza chain collaborated with Southeast Asian esports organization, Blacklist International, and hosted a gaming convention. During the special event, the newest lineup of the said esports group battled alongside fans playing the popular mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Brand communications senior manager Macie Chavez discussed in an exclusive interview with GMA Lifestyle the whole initiative of the Greenwich Gaming Convention where five teams, each composed of four fans and one Blacklist International player, battled it out in the gaming event.
“What [we] wanted to do is give a chance mismo sa mga fans [ng Blacklist International] na makalaro 'yung idol nila kasi kapag sinabi mong 'feel good experience,' you don't just get to see them, [but] you play with them [and] you be with them,” Macie said on Wednesday.

In a separate statement, she said, “[This] is not a big tournament, you know? But [...] it's a space where the fans can be with their idols kasi at the end of the day, we want them to experience [...] what it is like to live like a Blacklist International player for a day.”

Macie highlighted that this was made possible because of the meaningful partnership that the pizza chain fostered with Blacklist International.
“The reason behind [why we] partnered with [Blacklist International] is, at the end of the day, Greenwich is the champion for inclusivity, individuality, and authenticity,” Macie added. “We feel like, as gamers, [Blacklist International] embody that as well.”
She also believes that through this event, they will “help each other up” to foster a “meaningful connection” to their fans and customers respectively.
Aside from this gaming convention, Macie said that fans could expect more from the two groups, especially their year-long campaign of sharing the “feel good” experience with everyone.
