June 17 declared regular holiday for Eid'l Adha

The Malacañang Palace has declared June 17, 2024, Monday, a regular holiday, in observance of Eid'l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
The announcement was made through Proclamation No. 579, which was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 4.
According to the proclamation released on Wednesday, the date of Eid'l Adha this year was recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, following the 1445 Hijrah Islamic Lunar Calendar.
The proclamation also cited Republic Act No. 9849, which declares the “10th day of Zhul Hijja, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, a national holiday for the observance of Eid'l Adha.”
Eid'l Adha is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.
Eid'l Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, was also made a regular holiday by the Palace last April 10, 2024, under Proclamation No. 514.
