Michelle Dee encourages everyone to “come as they are” this upcoming Pride Month.

Even after handing over her crown to new Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo, Kapuso beauty queen Michelle Dee continues to advocate for her chosen causes even without the crown on her head.

In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Michelle posted a supportive message for the upcoming Pride Month celebrations. In the post, Michelle revealed that she did not plan to come out last year. However, winning the Miss Universe Philippines crown came with bashing and toxicity and the resurfacing of some of her old photos -- with her only regret being her sense of fashion at the time.

Michelle then said that people should come out when they feel it is the right time for them and that they are much more than how they identify themselves. She then encouraged people to come as they are this Pride Month and that she would go to the Pride Marches and just enjoy.

Of course, this isn't the first time that Michelle expressed her support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Aside from attending the Quezon City Pride March last year, Michelle also attended the Pride Month celebrations at the home of the United States ambassador to the Philippines with Drag Race Philippines cast members Precious Paula Nicole, Viñas Deluxe, Brigiding, Lady Morgana, and Kaladkaren.

Michelle also raised funds for LGBTQIA+ organizations through the clothing brand COS. The company donated 100 percent of the profits to specific LGBTQIA+ organizations, which Michelle promoted to her followers.

Michelle is the country's second bisexual Miss Universe Philippines. Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez became the first openly bisexual person to win the crown, and just like Michelle she has not shied away from supporting anti-discrimination initiatives.
