DF Art Agency and the European Cultural Centre (ECC) are poised to showcase the dynamic and varied skills of Filipino contemporary artists in Europe. This partnership represents a major achievement, with Derek Flores, Managing Director of the agency, receiving a personal invitation to join the 2024 Venice Biennial Personal Structures exhibit, which coincides with the renowned La Biennale di Venezia. This ECC's initiative highlights the international acclaim and fascination with the Philippines' vibrant art scene.

This exhibit, hosted at the prestigious Palazzo Mora in Venice, will showcase an eclectic mix of the Philippines' finest contemporary artists, ranging from self-taught visionaries to academically trained talents from the nation's top art schools including the University of the Philippines, University of the East, University of Santo Tomas, Bulacan State University, Technological University of the Philippines, Far Eastern University, EARIST, and DLSU. This selection embodies the multi-generational and diverse nature of Filipino artistry, promising a rich narrative of the country's cultural and artistic evolution.

Flores, who initially hesitated due to the logistical and financial challenges of such a grand endeavor, decided to pursue this dream project, recognizing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This decision was driven by his passion for art and his commitment to elevating Filipino artists on the global stage. The seven-month exhibition not only offers these artists unprecedented exposure to an international audience but also places them in the heart of one of the world's art capitals.

The support of both individual patrons and corporate sponsors highlights the collective effort behind this monumental project. Knowing the importance of this exhibit, Flores has commissioned the award-winning writer and arts educator Portia Placino to do the exhibition notes.

DF Art Agency's dedication to this cause, even going so far as to postpone other projects, reflects its deep commitment to showcasing Filipino talent worldwide.

This exhibition is not just a platform for individual artists but a testament to the vibrant and dynamic nature of Philippine contemporary art. As the only participant representing the Philippines at the ECC's Biennial event, the project is a beacon of national pride and a pivotal step towards introducing Filipino artists to the global art community.
