This janitor worked his way up to become a full lawyer

Because of how difficult life is, Filipinos often lose hope of ever rising up from whatever their situation in life may be. But the life story of one lawyer that Good News managed to discover may just give Filipinos hope that they can change their station in life.
According to Atty. Ramil Comendador, he was helping out his mother with her everyday tasks when he was as young as seven years old. It was important for him to help out especially since she was a single mother who was raising him and his five other siblings. Thanks to her mother's hard work, Ramil and his siblings were all able to finish high school.
However, Ramil didn't stop looking for ways to better his life. When an opportunity opened for him to go to Manila to look for a job, he immediately took it and was able to become a merchandiser in a furniture company.
But Ramil still didn't stop there. He took the civil service exam and once he passed, was able to take a job as a janitor at a government office. This was where he reconnected with a former classmate who would eventually become his wife.
Because his wife worked as an engineer, Ramil realized that education was the best way for him to find a better job. He took up a public administration course at the University of the Philippines and once he finished that, continued to study law.
In 2017, Ramil was able to graduate from law school and pass the Bar Exams. Ramil became a lawyer at the age of 35 and broke the cycle of poverty that he grew up in. Now he has his own law office that offers pro bono legal services to people in need.
