Michelle Dee advocates inclusive employment for people on the autism spectrum

When current reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee declared autism awareness as her lifelong mission, she really meant it as the beauty queen and Kapuso star has recently helped launch a partnership to benefit people on the autism spectrum who are looking for jobs.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization posted a short clip of Michelle launching the partnership between the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) and its new employment partner, Grundfos, on its official Instagram account. In the caption to the post, the organization also shared that Michelle taught 12 job applicants on the autism spectrum how to build confidence as well as how to present themselves during a job interview.
This partnership is one of the activities that Michelle has taken part in ever since reaffirming her commitment to the ASP, “a national non-profit dedicated to the well-being of Filipinos who live on autism spectrum and those who care for them”, at a recent contract signing.
During the contract signing, Michelle was described by the ASP as part of their family and one who has “lived the life” and is on the same journey that the members of the society have been through seeing as she has two brothers who are on the autism spectrum. Michelle first became ASP's ambassador back in 2019, which is also when she first revealed her two brothers on the autism spectrum.
Even before the contract renewal, Michelle was already meeting constantly with the ASP. Back in July, Michelle psoted a photo on her Instagram account with the caption promising a lot of amazing things in store for the Autism Society of the Philippines. She also shared her happiness at playing a role in making the country a more “Autism Accepting and Inclusive Nation.”
Aside from her renewed commitment to the ASP, Michelle also launched the Global Spectrum Initiative, a non-government organization she founded “to provide opportunities for individuals on the spectrum”. Among the organization's Board of Directors is GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and CEO of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes.
