Iya Villania shares epidural-free birthing experience

Kapuso host Iya Villania has always wanted to experience a natural birth, and for her fourth child, Astro Phoenix Arellano, she was finally able to do this.
In a more than 13-minute vlog posted on the Life with the Arellanos YouTube channel, Iya took viewers through the day of Astro's birth, starting with her water breaking in “little leaks.”
Iya kept viewers updated throughout the vlog, talking about the hospital inducing her contractions with oxytocin and movements. She was also given an 18-hour timeline, where a Caesarean section would be needed if the baby has not yet come out.
Thankfully, by 4:33 p.m., the baby started to come out and in six minutes, the delivery was done. The delivery was documented on the video as well.
The day after the birth, Iya explained that she felt “good” and that she was enjoying the “high” from the delivery, as well as grateful to have finished the labor and the delivery with her alive and the baby healthy. As for experiencing childbirth without anesthesia, she said she felt good and that she was still on a “high” from what she went through.
Iya also let viewers see her body after giving birth, noting that this was her “healthiest” pregnancy because she was more mindful of her diet and therefore didn't gain as much weight compared to her previous pregnancies. With Astro Phoenix, Iya says she did not experience back pain and was able to work a little longer compared to her previous pregnancies.
The video ends with Iya introducing Astro Phoenix to his siblings, Primo, Leon, and Alana.
