Take a bite out of the viral grilled balut

Which Filipino isn't familiar with balut? This unique dish isn't just famous here in our country, but in other countries as well. But just recently, social media was abuzz with a grilled balut.
What exactly is grilled balut, where can it be found, and is it tasty? Good News Kasama si Vicky Morales looked for the entrepreneurs who started this in the country to find out the full story!
The stall that sells these grilled balut can be found in La Loma, Quezon City, and while it hasn't been long since it opened, it already has a bustling line of customers. According to its owners, they can sell up to 1,800 pieces of balut in a day.
Gab Calora and Max Mendoza are the co-owners of Max Grilled Balut, and according to them, their current business came out of the tremendous sacrifice they made to help out their own families.
Rather than continue with their studies, they both chose to start working to help out their families. When they ended up needing more income, the two thought of selling balut, but with a twist.
Thanks to a video from Thailand showing grilled balut, Max thought of doing the same here in the country. With just P3,000 in capital, they began their balut business.
To make the grilled balut, Mac cracks open its top half and grills it in a grill that he made himself. Rather than salt and vinegar, a homemade sweet chili garlic sauce is added to give the balut more flavor. The balut is then left to grill for two to three minutes.
