Oriental Loay, Bohol's lokot can be cooked in many different ways.

Pansit is one of the many dishes that is often served on the tables of Filipinos so it isn't surprising that different versions of it exist in different parts of the country. But during Good News' travels, they were able to discover a dish that looks like pansit - but in reality is part of a sea creature.

Lokot or pansit-pansitan as it is known in other places, can be found in Oriental Loay, Bohol. It is prolific in the coastal area of Oriental Loay and can be picked from the rocks that come out during low tide. Lokot comes from a sea slug locally known as the donsol or a sea hare in English. It is green because of the sea grass and algae that sea hares like to eat. Lokot is actually sea hare eggs and any excess that the fishermen catch is bartered for bananas, ube, taro, or cassava.

The taste of lokot is similar to seaweed but it needs to be cleaned well beforehand because the sea hare also releases ink that could be dangerous to humans if ingested. To eat it, one needs to dip it in vinegar or mixed in with other ingredients like kilawin. It can also be sautéed or cooked like a soup or a stew
