R'Bonney Gabriel cooks sinigang for the first time; asks neighbors for rice
Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel shared her Filipina pride once again after she uploaded an Instagram reel last Thursday, June 6, where she cooked the famous Filipino cuisine sinigang.
She was joined by Carla who helped her through her small journey of cooking sinigang na salmon for the first time.
Before she started cooking, R'Bonney did a little intro in Tagalog that showcased her cute accent.
“Magluluto ako ng sinigang na salmon,” she said.
(I am cooking salmon sinigang).
R'Bonney also enumerated the ingredients in Tagalog while she put them one by one in the cooking pot. It consisted of onions, tomatoes, mustasa (mustard leaves), green beans, miso paste, green finger chili, tamarind powder soup, and salmon.

Of course, it isn't a mini-cooking show without R'Bonney rocking the kitchen with her beginner yet cute skills in cooking. She even cut some green beans and mixed the ingredients in the pot.
After their fun cooking experience, R'Bonney and Carla realized they were out of rice, so they went to their neighbors and asked for a few cups of rice.
She also asked them politely, “May kanin po [kayo]?”
R'Bonney wrote on her Instagram caption, “Real neighbors give you rice.”
Netizens also laughed and admired R'Bonney's concept of Filipino ties when she asked her neighbors for rice to complete her sinigang dish.
Someone even commented, “Very Pinoy 'yung manghingi ng kanin sa kapitbahay!” (It's very-Filipino to ask your neighbors for rice).
After her quest to cook sinigang for the first time, R'Bonney and her parents tasted her Salmon Sinigang. Her mom even gave it a rating of 9.5 even though she does not like sinigang very much.
