These fruits and dishes from Nueva Vizcaya are a must-try

For travelers who are also foodies, checking out the dishes unique to the locations they are at is an important part of the experience. Whether it's kamontaha from Camarines Norte, they're always ready to try it out.
For Nueva Vizcaya, the dish that is unique to them and can be a representative for the province is buridibud. Drew Arellano and Biyahe ni Drew visited the province to find out what it is about this dish that makes it stand out.
According to Chef Jehan Damasco, the chef and owner of Mrs. Baker's Restaurant & Pastry Shop in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, buridibud is a simple dish that is served in the households of Nueva Vizcaya. It takes its name from the Ilocano word burbur, which means mashed. Other than sweet potato and vegetables, also part of its ingredients are shrimp paste, dried shrimp, and bagbagkong, a kind of jasmine flower.
Aside from buridibud, another dish unique to Nueva Vizcaya is the inabraw. Its ingredients are almost the same as buridibud, with the difference being that inabraw has fish.
Aside from these dishes, a foodie traveler visiting Nueva Vizcaya should also try out the province's fruits, especially since it is known as the Citrus Capital of the Philippines.
Some of the citrus that can only be grown in Nueva Vizcaya include the navel orange, the Meyer lemon, the Rangpur lime, and the Satsuma mandarin. Aside from checking these out, there are also establishments like the GL Cumila Farm in Tadji, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya that holds fruit-picking activities for its visitors.
