This Cavite carinderia offers an affordable breakfast!

The prices of goods continue to rise, which is why your P10 can't buy as much as it could before. But if you're living in Cavite or are willing to travel there, you'll find a carinderia that sells breakfast for only P10!

Good News visited this carinderia to find out the story behind this affordable breakfast!

The carinderia of Ricardo Lozano, Jr. is located in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, and his customers always have options when it comes to breakfast. They can choose either soup, lugaw, champorado, spaghetti, palabok, or pancit. All of this can be bought for only P10. Aside from those dishes, Ricardo also sells hotcakes at P3 a piece.

However, Ricardo didn't start out his business at a P10 price point. When he was just starting out he charged P15 per serving, but it didn't manage to attract any customers. They did start flocking to him once he lowered the price of his dishes to P10.

What is amazing is that despite the low price points, Ricardo says that he is still able to turn a profit. According to him, he can earn at least P1,600 if he manages to sell all of his products.

Ricardo's day starts at midnight, when he cooks the different dishes that he'd be serving in the morning. Once 3:00 a.m. comes around, he's done cooking and is ready to sell. His products are all sold out by 9 in the morning, and after cleaning up he heads directly to the market to buy the ingredients for the next day's dishes. He sleeps at 12 in the afternoon to recuperate for the next day.

Just like any business, Ricardo also faced challenges before getting to where he is today. He wasn't always able to sell all of his dishes, and since he does everything by himself, he has to deal with fatigue on top of that. Because of the time when he sells his products, he also has to deal with drunk customers, and has been reprimanded by the barangay more than once because of the noise of his customers.

Thankfully, Ricardo's situation has begun to improve ever since he lowered his price point to P10. According to him, he is now able to sell out his dishes and can now pay for his bills on time.
