Heart Evangelista launches new perfume with beauty brand
Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista continues her domination in the realm of fashion and beauty as she embarks on another partnership with multinational cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, and personal care company Avon to launch a new luxurious scent called Eve Truth.
Eve Truth is an intensely fresh fragrance crafted with an exclusive-to-Avon Natural Aura Accord, refreshing pink freesias, and warm cedarwood. The scent is said to allow women to embrace who they truly are and give them a boost of confidence without masking their real selves.
Kariz Gabrino, Avon's group category manager of fragrance, amplified this and shared, “Eve Truth is truly a world-class perfume crafted by renowned French perfumer Laurent Le Guernec. He's the nose behind some of the world's famous fragrances. Olfactive-wise, Eve Truth is an intensely fresh floral fragrance scent created with an exclusive-to-Avon Natural Aura Accord that captures the olfactive family of fresh freesia combined with warm cedarwood. Personally, what I like about this product is it's a very clean scent, it's a pure scent that doesn't mask your true self. It amplifies a woman's power to embody her true self and, at the same time, being confident about it.”
We spotted Heart wearing the scent during her recent trip to Paris for fashion week and last February 9, the Kapuso star officially launched the sophisticated fragrance at Seltsam in Makati. Together with content creators Belle Rodolfo, Aryn Cristobal, Toni Morales, and Nana Silayro, Heart shared her journey towards building her self-confidence and conquering life with authenticity.
“It took a while for me to get it [being authentic]. I grew up in front of a lot of people, I started when I was 15 so I always had to pretend to be someone. I had to fit a mold, I had to be a certain way so I will be sellable. It was like an onion that took layers and layers before I actually start to know who I really was. But now, I'm unapologetic and how do I live my truth? I just be myself. I feel like I deserve to be myself. I love myself so much more now because of everything I've been through and I'm proud of myself,” admits Heart.
Aryn Cristobal echoed what Heart said and shared, “I think Heart and I are in this certain generation where it's very different the way people would perceive women and the way we had to act. So I was always told, 'don't do this, don't do that' and I started surrounding myself with people who are more like me instead of people who would try to make me something else. And when I found company in people who were similar to me or at least enjoyed the type of person I was, then I was actually able to get the confidence in myself to be authentic.”
Heart acknowledges the hardships of building one's confidence, especially when people always had to limit her and put her in a box. That's why it took her a long time to embrace who she really is. She narrated, “Sad to say sometimes, people are going turn their back on you, people are going to leave you, you're going to be alone. You're not going to know what to do and if you do not know what to do, your survival instincts will just kick in and you will realize that you need to love yourself so much. And I'm going to learn, I'm going to toughen up because I deserve this and I'm going to step forward and I will love myself. I don't care about what you say. I don't care if I stand here alone. I have a good heart and I'm an honest person, with so much love to give. That's how you get confidence. Because it just develops, you can't pick it up, you can't buy it, you attain it, you earn it. It grows eventually.”
Heart has always been a champion of self-love and has always been vocal about her journey toward embracing it. That's why it's an easy yes for her to represent companies and products that allow women to be their authentic selves. Organizations that make our spaces safer to express who we truly are.
