Gucci and Harry Styles launch fashion collab

Ever since embarking on a solo career, Harry Styles has gone on an equally fascinating fashion journey as well. The singer is now taking that journey to the runway as he collaborates with fashion brand Gucci on a collection that has been described as '70s-inspired.
As reported by The Guardian, the collaboration came about through the friendship between Harry and Alessandro Michele, Gucci's creative director. Called Gucci HA HA HA, Alessandro Michele described the collection as “something easy.”
“It's a little experiment I did with Harry, a friend of mine and it belongs to the space we share - the passion for clothes and things,” he said.
The collection was revealed at Gucci's Cavalli e Nastri Uomo vintage store and is made up of flared suiting as a nod to “the image of English lords and eccentric people we love,” according to Michele. Pajamas with bear, squirrel, and elephant designs were also showcased and meant to make the wearer “feel forever young.”
This is hardly the first collaboration between a celebrity and a high fashion brand. Back in November of last year, the Fendi x Kim Kardashian collaboration managed to make the fashion house $1 million in one minute, with prices for pieces in the collection ranging from $950 to $4,200.
This is also just the latest collaboration for Gucci, who in December of last year revealed a collaboration with outdoor gear brand The North Face. Just like Gucci HA HA HA, the collaboration was helmed by Alessandro Michele and includes trek gear, ready-to-wear, luggage, shoes, and accessories.
Another Gucci collaboration that was not as well-received was the one with Adidas, which included an umbrella that could not be used in the rain.
The “sun umbrella,” which retails for $1,290 or P70352.09 as of current exchange rates, was first ridiculed on Chinese social media site Weibo, with a user saying the umbrella is “a very big but useless fashion statement.” On Twitter, one user said he would rather be a victim of a “low level ponzi scheme” rather than have the Gucci umbrella.
