Here's how a professional prepares the skin before makeup

Skincare is an essential step before doing any makeup routine. Doing so ensures that the skin is hydrated and well-moisturized, allowing the makeup products to settle better on the skin.
In an exclusive video on ATM (Adventure. Taste. Moments), Sparkle artist Roxie Smith had the chance to learn how celebrity makeup guru Tor Torre preps the skin before applying makeup.
According to Tor, it is important to always start with a clean canvas or a clean face, hence why the first thing he does is apply micellar water to remove excess oil and dirt.
After making sure the face is clean, Tor applied two kinds of toners, one with salicylic acid and another with glycolic acid.
To bring back moisture to the face, Tor applied serum, which he said has active ingredients like vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E - to help hydrate and replenish the skin and make it look plump.
Tor also used an under eye serum, which is a vitamin C eye gel, to brighten the under eye area.
The last step of Tor's skin preparation is arguably the most important one -- sunscreen. Tor said he likes using silicone-based sunscreen products since these do not change the color of the skin.
