Emma Watson is a true advocate of sustainable fashion.

Actress Emma Watson is the newest face of Prada's Re-Nylon collection, the luxury brand's sustainable product line. An advocate of sustainable fashion, Emma is the perfect ambassador for this year's campaign.

Prada Re-Nylon was launched by the Italian fashion house in 2019 as a campaign to help with ocean conservation. The project is in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in support of the educational program Sea Beyond.

For the product line, Prada partnered with synthetic fiber yarn producer Aquafil to create Econyl, a regenerated nylon yarn. Econyl is made out of recycled plastic that was collected from landfills and various oceans. The regenerated nylon is being used in place of all virgin nylon in Prada's production.

As of July 2023, Prada has reported that 1 percent of the proceeds have supported the Sea Beyond which “has raised global awareness on sustainability and ocean literacy principles, educating young generations around the world”.

Prada also explained that the Re-Nylon collection “epitomizes a fundamental duality of Prada's identity; innovation in spirit, responsibility in action.”

Joining Emma in the 2024 campaign is English actor, Benedict Cumberbatch.

Prada posted a photo of Emma sporting a pixie cut and wearing a Re-Nylon raincoat and holding a Re-Edition 1978 medium Re-Nylon and Saffiano leather top handle bag.

Actress and It's Showtime host Anne Curtis even left a comment on the post.

Aside from its Re-Nylon campaign, Prada has also launched other projects that promote sustainability.

According to a report by Sustainability Magazine, 89 percent of the paper used in Prada's packaging in 2021 was recycled or certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In recent years, Prada mandated within its clothing and leather goods divisions to convert some packaging components to recycled or regenerated instead of virgin plastic.

Prada is an Italian luxury fashion brand founded in 1913 that specializes in leather handbags, travel accessories, shoes, ready-to-wear, and other fashion accessories.
