John Arcilla as the newest BFP Ambassador: "Sunog o kaligtasan? Pumili ka!"

“From this day forward, it is my advocacy to remind our fellow Filipinos that it is our duty to take good care of our safety.”

"Lolong, Bayani ng Bayan" actor John Arcilla was officially appointed as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) ambassador at the BFP Central Office in Quezon City. In time for Fire Prevention Month, his short film and advertisements were launched at the Football Stadium in Binan, Laguna. Written, directed, and starring the actor himself, the project aims to emphasize the vital importance of fire prevention and safety among Filipinos.

Addressing Fire Chief Supt. Jesus Piedad Fernandez, BFP generals, and officers from all regions, Arcilla expressed his admiration for the bravery of firefighters and their crucial role in keeping communities safe. He highlighted the responsibility of citizens to follow fire safety practices and reduce fire risks.

Arcilla’s advocacy is deeply personal. Having lived through the terrifying experience of a fire threatening his own neighborhood, he understands firsthand the fear and urgency of fire safety. This experience drives his commitment to educating others on being prepared and vigilant when it comes to fire prevention.

“Ang apoy ay walang sala kundi ang ating kapabayaan. Nasa mga kamay natin ang ating ikakatupok o ikakasalba. Ang ating kaligtasan ay nasa ating pag-iingat. Sunog o kaligtasan? Pumili ka!”
