'Firefly' to stream on Prime Video worldwide beginning April 30

Firefly, the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival and 1st Manila International Film Festival Best Picture, will be available on Amazon Prime Video worldwide beginning April 30.

Produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, Firefly tells the story of Tonton (Euwenn Mikaell) and his journey as he finds the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother, Elay's (Alessandra De Rossi), bedtime stories.
 
Along the way, Tonton meets three strangers -- Billy (Miguel Tanfelix), Erika (Ysabel Ortega), and Mang Louie (Epy Quizon) -- who will either help him or hinder his quest.
 
Also part of the ensemble cast are Cherry Pie Picache, Yayo Aguila, and Kokoy De Santos, with the special participation of Max Collins and Dingdong Dantes.
 
Directed by Zig Dulay, Firefly also won the Best Original Screenplay for Angeli Atienza and Best Child Performer for Euwenn at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival.

At the first-ever Manila International Film Festival in California, Firefly won the Best Director for Zig Dulay, Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra de Rossi, and Best Screenplay for Angeli Atienza.
