Entertainment press heap praises on 'Family History'

The best family drama movie of the year ‘Family History’ has exceeded the expectations of several members of the entertainment press with its beautiful story and the impeccable acting of its lead stars.

This movie marks the return of award-winning comedian Michael V. in the big screen and this is also the first project of the Kapuso star with highly-respected movie actress Dawn Zulueta.

In a review made by Anna Pingol (the editor of pikapika.ph), she said that ‘Family History’ was able to create an iconic line with "46 times."

She explained, “Time and money well spent. Husay. Tino. Linis. Ganda. #46x is now an iconic line. Ang swabe ng pasok pero hard-hitting. Ang saya na ang sakit. @michaelbitoy deserves awards for this. #FamilyHistory.”

Meanwhile, Pilipino Star Ngayon writer Gorgy Rula commended the performance of Dawn Zulueta and the young stars Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali.

“Dramang-drama kasi ang kuwento at maraming mga nakakaiyak na eksena, pero ang style ni Direk Bitoy, maiiyak ka na sana sa eksena pero mauudlot dahil matatawa ka na lang. Dagdag pa rito ang magagaling nilang performance. Ang pinaka-outstanding sa pelikulang ito ay si Dawn Zulueta na consistent talaga siyang magaling sa kabuuan ng pelikula. Nagulat din kami sa BiGuel na sina Bianca Umali at Miguel Tanfelix na napakagaling din sa pelikulang ito.”

“Sobrang seryoso ang tema ng pelikula, iiyakan mo talaga, pero ang nakakaloka, sasakit ang tiyan mo sa katatawa. ‘Di ba naman, pinagsasabay mo ang pagtawa at pag-iyak, ang hirap nu’n, ha! Pero possible nga ‘yon with Michael V around na actor/director sa movie.”

“Maraming sundot sa comedy na bentang-benta sa manonood at ‘yung dramatic scenes ay may kurot sa puso. Hindi kasi pilit ang pagdadrama nina Bitoy at Dawn Zulueta at may sundot pa ng komedya. Winner ang mga eksena ng guesting nina Dingdong Dantes at Eugene Domingo, huh!”

Nora Calderon of Pang Masa:

“Ang Family History ay magpapakita sa mga manonood ng isang magandang love story, ang pagmamahal sa pamilya at ang suporta ng mga kaibigan sa oras ng pangangailangan.”

'Family History' is still showing in cinemas nationwide and is graded “B” by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
