July 30 2019
Multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V. paid tribute to comedy legend Dolphy in his Instagram post today, July 30.
According to Michael V., it was his dream to work with the showbiz icon who died at the age of 83 on July 10, 2012.
“Minsan lang kaming nagkasama sa screen; as guest sa “Home Along Da Riles” nu’ng rapper pa ‘ko at saka nu’ng in-interview ko s’ya sa Eat Bulaga (Happy 40th!) sa promo ng “Dobol Trobol”. Pangarap ko talagang makasama s’ya sa project and write a script for him. Sabi ko kahit walang bayad basta maka-trabaho ko lang s’ya! ?????? Unfortunately, it wasn'tmeant to be," he wrote.
He also added that watching the movies of Dolphy was one of his inspiration when he wrote the script of his movie 'Family History.'
Bitoy explained, "Nu’ng sinusulat ko ‘yung #FamilyHistory sabi ko sa sarili ko: “Dapat maiparamdam ko sa audience ‘yung nararamdaman ko everytime I watch a Dolphy movie.
“‘Yung patatawin ka tapos biglang e-esquala ‘yung emotion mo and before you know it, umiiyak ka na. That was the inspiration for some parts ng #FamilyHistoryMovie which a lot of people reacted to.”
'Family History' is still showing in cinemas nationwide and is graded “B” by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
