'What We Could Be' creative manager Atty. Joji Alonso shares she had to revise its finale week script completely

Nakatakda nang magtapos ang GMA Telebabad series na What We Could Be na unang collaboration series ng GMA at Quantum Films.

Sa kwento, nagkaroon ng alitan ang dating magkasintahan na sina Franco (Miguel Tanfelix) at Cynthia (Ysabel Ortega) nang dahil sa away sa panaderya. Dati silang magkasosyo sa negosyo pero ibinenta ito ni Franco.

Sa pagbabalik ni Cynthia matapos ang isang taon, muling nagtagpo ang landas nila ni Franco.

Ayon sa creative manager ng What We Could Be at Quantum Films founder and COO na si Atty. Joji Alonso, sinikap nilang maging makatotohanan ang kwento ng programa.

Aniya, "It's a good mix. It's not just one family but different experiences lalo na 'yung legal side. Marami kasi akong cases na nahahawakan na may mga bangayan tungkol sa properties so 'yung mga bits and pieces do'n pinasok namin dito. And, of course, nilagyan namin ng drama para maiba naman siya and, if you look at the story, it's very family oriented.

"It looks like this small family, it struggles and tries to survive amid all the difficulties that they have to go through. And, of course, hindi mawawala 'yung love, 'yun 'yung bumubuhay ng story, and it's a good mix of reality and the creative minds of the writers. I'd like to put it that way but ang daming inspiration from the little things we see all over."

Dugo't pawis ang binuhos para mabuo ang What We Could Be, na unang teleserye ng Quantum Films, kaya naman masusi itong sinulat hanggang sa finale script nito.

"In every project that I'd do, I always give a part of myself and this one, in particular, kasi in the development of the story involved ako from the beginning until the scripts were out until we have to review the scripts and our inputs. Hanggang sa binigay na sa amin 'yung last week ng script. Sabi ko, teka this is not the direction of the script anymore. I had it completely revised kasi that it's not the ending that I wanted."

Bahagi ni Atty. Joji, sinigurado niyang maging consistent ang itinatakbo ng istorya para masagot ang tanong na What We Could Be na titulo ng programa.

"When we speak of the words 'what we could be,' it actually gets two things: what we could be as lovers. The three of them kung kanino man mapupunta si Cynthia, ando'n 'yung aspeto na ano ba ang future natin bilang magkaibigan. The other side of it is what we could be as people, how we develop as characters, how we grow into better human beings."

Aniya, involved din sa writing process ang National Artist for Literature na si Ricky Lee.

Dugtong ng lawyer at movie/TV producer, "So no'ng nakuha ko 'yung last week ng script, 'di ako happy kasi hindi 'yun nasapul 'yung statement na gusto kong gawin. We had it revised and I'm very grateful to my good friend, Ricky Lee, kasi tinulungan niya kami para mahugot at lumabas 'yung kailangan ilabas sa last week so perfect ito."
