For Inspirational Diva Jamie Rivera, getting to write a song that became the theme of the Papal Visit was an unbelievable opportunity.

In her guesting in Walang Tulugan, she revealed that she took the initiative to write a song once she found out that Pope Francis was visiting the Philippines.

“Nung nalaman ko na dadating ang Santo Papa nung May, tinawagan ko si Archbishop Soc Villegas. Nagpaalam ako. Sabi ko puwede po ba ko sumulat ng kanta para sa Papal Visit? Sabi niya sige, magsulat ka,” she shared.

Grateful and inspired, she wrote We Are All God’s Children, with the help of Noel Espinida for the melody. They presented it to Archbishop Soc Villegas who sent it to the Vatican. After a pretty long wait, they heard word that the Vatican has approved the song.

According to Jamie, it wasn’t easy waiting for a response. In fact, it was a journey of faith in itself.

“In the process of doing everything, nakikita lang ng tao 'yung façade 'di ba? Ang hindi nila nalalaman what you had to go through to get to the point where you are. Like for example, waiting, tapos persevering, asking for permission,” she said.

The experience has refined her and humbled her, she claims. “I feel blessed and very grateful and very thankful pero alam mo, merong certain humility na binibigay sa 'yo eh. Magiging humble ka… Akala nila kakanta ka lang, pero hindi nila nakikita 'yung naghihintay ka ng matagal. Hindi ganun kadali,” she added.
