'Voltes V: Legacy' main stars, director Mark Reyes, GMA executives meet TOEI reps
Voltes V: Legacy has earned another milestone as representatives of TOEI, the original makers of Voltes V in Japan, flew to the country to finally meet the team behind the GMA live-action adaptation series of the popular '70s mecha anime.
The show's director, Mark Reyes, took to his Instagram account on Thursday, February 16, to share some photos from their meeting with TOEI International Sales & Acquisitions people Nakajima-San and Naoki-San during a dinner, also attended by Voltes V: Legacy main stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Martin Del Rosario, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.
GMA executives Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth Rasonable, Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, and Assistant Vice President for Drama Helen Rose Sese also came together to welcome the delegates from TOEI, along with Larson Chan and Teejay Del Rosario of Telesuccess Productions, the licensing agent of Voltes V in the Philippines.
Reyes said, "Honored to meet and exchange experiences with TOEI Inc. representatives Nakajima-San and Naoki-San with the @voltesvlegacy family and Telesuccess team. Truly a memorable night."
Voltes V: Legacy, written by Suzette Doctolero, bears the potential of being the Philippines' first serious epic sci-fi TV show as it is partnered with TOEI Company, Ltd., the same company that brought the robot saga to life, and its local licensor Telesuccess Productions, Inc.
GMA also engaged the services of Riot Inc. Post-Production along with GMA Post video graphics and graphics team to handle the CGI and the live-action elements of the stories.
Voltes V: Legacy airs 2023 on GMA Telebabad.
