'Voltes V: Legacy' photo recreates sword scene from the original 1977 series
Voltes V: Legacy director Mark Reyes shared a behind-the-scenes photo of a sword scene that appears to be a recreation of a similar scene from the original 1977 anime series.
The "expectation vs. reality" photo gives viewers a glimpse of Prince Zardoz a.k.a. Prince Heinel's sword as compared to the animated version of the weapon. Prince Zardoz is the leader of Boazania who wishes to conquer Earth. The character will be played by actor Martin del Rosario in the upcoming Kapuso adaptation.
"The sword has been drawn," Direk Mark wrote in his caption, with the hashtags #voltesvlegacy #princezardoz #1977to2021 #iconicscene.
The photo drew excitement from fans, with netizens reacting to the Voltes V: Legacy sword.
One netizen wrote, "Voltes V fans, that is one BEAUTIFULLY crafted sword. Worthy of a Boazanian royalty! Looking forward to seeing more!
Direk Mark also gave a sneak peek of where all the "action" takes place. Tagging it as the "real command center," it is actually the Illumination Studio, where he works in tandem with executive producer Darling Torres, who was also tagged in the photo.
"This is the real command center of #voltesvlegacy, with my executive producer @darlingptorres " Direk Mark wrote.
He also added hashtags showing what he was working on. The Prince Zardoz scene, perhaps? "#starswarspillow #directorslife #lockintaping #isthatprincezardoz?"
The lock-in taping for the upcoming live-action television series started in May 2021.
The Voltes V team consists of Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong; Radson Flores as Mark Gordon; Matt Lozano as “Big Bert” Armstrong; Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson; and Raphael Landicho as “Little Jon” Armstrong.
