IN PHOTOS: Meet the cast of 'Voltes V: Legacy'
In 2019, GMA Network raised expectations of viewers after it released sleek, eye-opening visual effects of the upcoming live-action television series 'Voltes V: Legacy.'
The story, as with the Japanese anime, follows the tale of brothers Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon Armstrong and their friends Jamie Robinson and Mark Gordon as they fight the humanoid aliens, known as Boazanians, who plans to invade Earth and launch their beast fighters all over the world.
The series, directed by Mark A. Reyes and written by Suzette Doctolero, bears the potential of being the Philippines' first serious epic sci-fi TV show as it is partnered with Toei Company, Ltd., the same company that brought the robot saga to life, and Telesuccess Productions, Inc. The network also engaged the services of Riot Inc. Post-Production along with GMA Post Video graphics to handle the CGI and the live-action elements of the stories.
Since the announcement of the action-packed show, many fans have speculated which actors have would play the iconic roles of the Voltes 5 Team, and Direk Mark hinting clues here and there as to who bagged the role.
Finally laying the rumors to rest, here is the official list of actors who will be part of the much-anticipated series 'Voltes V: Legacy.'
Steve Armstrong
Steve Armstrong is the Voltes V team leader and the eldest of the Armstrong brothers. He is a great marksman, a motocross champion, and an ace pilot. He pilots the head of Voltes V, otherwise known as the Volt Cruiser.
Miguel Tanfelix
Playing the role of Steve is Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix. With his boyish, unpretentious personality, Miguel can easily capture the hearts of kids and the kids at heart who would be watching 'Voltes V: Legacy' soon.
Robert "Big Bert" Armstrong
Big Bert is the defense tactician of the group and a master of different hand-to-hand fighting styles. He pilots the Volt Panzer or the body chest of the robot.
Matt Lozano
Bagging the role from the many auditionees for Big Bert is former 'Eat Bulaga' Spogify winner Matt Lozano. To prepare for his role, Matt has been doing intense full-body workouts and learning arnis during the quarantine.
Little Jon Armstrong
John Armstrong, known famously as “Little Jon,” is the teen genius of the Voltes 5 team. Despite his intellectual prowess and many achievements, his big brothers still consider him as a child. Little Jon pilots the Volt Frigate or the legs of Voltes V.
Raphael Landicho
Child actor Raphael Landicho bagged the iconic role of Little Jon Armstrong. Prior to getting casted in the live-action series, Raphael starred in many Kapuso shows including 'Love of My Life,' 'Bihag,' 'Tadhana,' and 'Magpakailanman.'
Mark Gordon
Although he was orphaned as a young boy, Mark found stability and strength when he learned to ride horses as a kid. As he got older, he fell in love with the sport and eventually became a rodeo champion. The Volt Bomber (arms) is the vehicle of Mark Gordon.
Radson Flores
'StarStruck' alumnus Radson Flores is getting his big break as he is announced to play the role of Mark Gordon in the highly anticipated series.
Jamie Robinson
Completing the Voltes V team is none other than female ninja Jamie Robinson. As part of the Koga-ryu clan, Jamie is very knowledgeable when it comes to martial arts and is skilled in fighting combat. She is usually the voice of reason of the group and pilots the Volt Lander (feet).
Ysabel Ortega
Kapuso actress Ysabel Ortega lands the role of Jamie Robinson in the live-action series. This is her first major role after signing with the Kapuso network in 2019.
Prince Zardoz
Prince Zardoz is the initial antagonist of the Voltes V team and the half-brother of Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon. He is sent by Emperor Zu to conquer Earth.
Martin del Rosario
Playing the role of the major antagonist in the series is Kapuso actor Martin del Rosario. Martin is known for his superior acting chops thanks to his wide range of roles since starting his showbiz career in 2007.
Zandra
In the series, Zandra acts as Prince Zardoz's aide and lover. She is continuously motivated by love and remained loyal to Prince Zardoz until her demise.
Liezel Lopez
Bagging the role as the beautiful Zandra is Liezel Lopez. Liezel is an alumna of 'StarStruck' where her acting skills earned her a spot in the Final 14. Since then she has signed an exclusive contract with GMA Artist Center and has since played role after role in the Kapuso network.
Zuhl
Zuhl is a one-horned toothless hunchback scientist known for being Prince Zardoz's aide throughout the series in bringing destruction to Earth and that of Voltes V.
Epy Quizon
Actor Jeffrey “Epy” Quizon will be portraying the role of Zuhl in the live-action series 'Voltes V: Legacy.' This is not the first time Epy will be playing an antagonist role. In 2003, he was known for portraying the role of Stryker in the film 'Lastikman' alongside Vic Sotto.
Draco
Draco is a three-horned General sent to Earth with Prince Zardoz and Zandra. As a general, Draco is fiercely loyal to his master and is also a wise strategist for battle formations against the Voltes V team.
Carlo Gonzalez
Kapuso actor and former 'Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Doubles Showdown' star Carlo Gonzalez will be portraying the role of Draco. With his tall physique and a knack for appearing in several action series, it's no wonder that Carlo bagged the position!

Dr. Hook
Dr. Hook is a scientist working for the Earth Defense Force and a former student of Dr. Smith. He is one of the commanders of Camp Big Falcon after his mentor.
Neil Ryan Sese
Neil Ryan Sese is a Filipino television, movie, and theater actor known for portraying many roles in different high-rating Kapuso series. When asked about how he felt portraying the role, Neil said, “Nalaman ko pa na 'yung cartoons na ipinalabas dito sa Pilipinas, noong 1978, ay si Mr. Joonee Gamboa pa 'yung nagboses kay Dr. Hook. E, siyempre, isa 'yun sa mga iniidolo ko. So nadagdagan pa 'yung pressure!”
Commander Robinson
Commander Robinson is the co-designer of Voltes V and one of the Earth International Defense Force commanders. He also happens to be the father of the only female member of the Voltes V team, Jamie Robinson.
Gabby Eigenmann
Playing Commander Robinson is actor Gabby Eigenmann. In an interview for '24 Oras,' Gabby said he is a certified fanboy of the series to the point that he'd save his money to collect playing cards that bore the robot's design. He shared, “Growing up talaga, 'Voltes V' fan ako. I used to collect cards, mga playing cards, at bumibili pa ako sa tindahan para lang mag-collect ng stickers!”
Supporting male cast
Several months after GMA revealed the show's main stars, new cast members are set to show off their acting skills by playing supporting characters in the much-awaited series. This includes up-and-coming male artists Kimson Tan, Migs Villasis, Dave Duque, Joaquin Manansala, and Jamir Zabarte.
Supporting female cast
Angela Alarcon, Sophia Senoron, Julia Pascual, Crystal Paras, and Elle Villanueva are the stunning newbie actresses to watch for also in 'Voltes V: Legacy.'
Training
The roles of the supporting cast have yet to be revealed but it just means that 'Voltes V: Legacy' is getting more exciting. Recently, Angela, Sophia, and Elle have begun their basic gun handling and shooting lessons with six-time World Speed Shooting champion Jethro Dionisio who also trained Miguel in their roles in the upcoming live-action adaptation series.
Carla Abellana
The stern scientist will be played by no less than the Kapuso actress Carla Abellana. According to her interview with '24 Oras,' she is amazed by how big the production of 'Voltes V: Legacy' is, praising the enormous set, intricate costumes, as well as the performance of her fellow artists.
