LetsVoltIn: The iconic characters of Voltes V
Before we get to know more details about the much-awaited Voltes V Legacy live adaptation, let's take a look back at the iconic characters that made a huge impact in the hearts of both young and old.
Kenichi Gou or Steve Armstrong
Kenichi is the Voltes V team leader and the eldest of the three brothers. He is a great marksman, a motocross champion and an ace pilot. He pilots the Volt Cruiser (head)
Daijirou Gou or Robert Armstrong
Daijirou is the defense tactician of the group and a master of different hand-to-hand fighting styles. Together with his brothers, they started training as members of the Voltes V team. He pilots the Volt Panzer (body chest)
Hiyoshi Gou or Jon Armstrong
A genius in automatons and robotics, Hiyoshi is considered a teen genius by many university professors. Although he has many achievements, his big brothers still consider him a child. The Volt Frigate (legs) is Hiyoshi's vehicle.
Ippei Mine or Mark Gordon
Although orphaned as a young boy, Ippei found stability and strength when he learned to ride horses as a kid thus leading him to become a rodeo champion when he got older. He pilots the Volt Bomber (arms).
Megumi Oka or Jamie Robinson
Megumi is actually a kunoichi or a female ninja who hails from the Koga-ryu clan. She is the voice of reason among the male members and her cool demeanor makes her the perfect fifth (and only female) member of the team. She pilots the Volt Lander (feet).
Emperor Zu Zambajil
The leader of the Boazanian Empire, Emperor Zambajil was the bastard child of the Emperor who cast away its rightful heir, Prof. Kentarou Gou . Under him, the Empire became conquest hungry and cruel.
Prince Heinel or Prince Zardoz
The initial antagonist of the Voltes V team, Prince Heinel was sent by Emperor Zambajil to conquer the Earth.
Prof. Kentarou Gou or Dr. Ned Armstrong
The father of the three Gou brothers and also the father of Prince Heinel. He is a royal-blooded Boazanian born without horns and was next in line to the throne of Boazania. He was cast away by his cousin Emperor Zambajil and escaped to Earth where he became the Professor. He left Earth to put an end to the tyrannical rule of Emperor Zambajil.
Prof. Mitsuyo Gou or Dr. Mary Ann Armstrong
The wife of Dr. Kentarou Gou and the mother of the three Gou brothers. She met Kentarou after his spaceship landed on Earth. She assisted in the creation of Voltes V and raised her children on her own when her husband left.
Prof. Hamaguchi or Dr. Richard Smith
The commander of the Camp Big Falcon fortress, Prof. Hamaguchi helped design and build the Voltes V robot. He is somewhat the father figure to the Voltes V team.
General Oka or Commander Robinson
Megumi's father and the 17th heir in the Koga-ryu ninja clan. He is a co-designer of Voltes V and the commander of the Earth International Defense Force.
Prof. Sakunji or Dr. Hook
Another commander of the Big Falcon, Prof. Sakunji is a hard-nosed commander who continually pushes the team to their limits during training. He may appear cruel, but he also has his soft side as he always shows concern to the people on Earth.
Gen. Dange or Gen. Watson
A Boazanian colleague and ally of Dr. Kentarou Gou. He was a member of the Boazanian nobility and joined in the rebellion against Emperor Zambajil.
Gen. Doir or Commander Garth
Another Boazanian colleague of Dr. Gou who escaped with him to Earth. He is the leader of the rebels and helped in the construction of the Solar Bird, a giant spaceship that is designed for space travel for Camp Big Falcon.
Katherine Rii or Zandra
Prince Heinel's aide and lover. Katherine Rii is continuously motivated by love and remained loyal to Heinel until the end.
Jangal Rui or Draco
The three-horned General sent to Earth with Prince Heinel and Katharine Rii. Jangal is fiercely loyal to Heinel and continually shows that he is a wise strategist.
Zuhl
The one-horned hunchback who serves as Prince Heinel's aides. He is also quite smart because one of his inventions nearly destroyed the Voltes V.
Gen. Bergan or General Oslack
General Bergan is the second general sent by Emperor Zambajil to keep an eye on Prince Heinel and kill him if necessary.
