Sexy film actor busted for drugs

Maryo J. delos Reyes, who worked with Anton Bernardo in 'Sa Paraiso ni Efren', says he had an inkling of the actor's drug problem before.

Anton Bernardo was known for his sexy roles in films such as Kesong Puti, Patikim ng Pinya, Nang Mamulat si Eba, Anakan Mo Ako and a few others back in the ‘90s.
He was also in Joaquin Bordado and in the digital film Torotot back in 2008.
He has kept a low profile since them.
He unwittingly resurfaced when he was flagged down by local authorities for not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle at around 5 a.m. in Quezon City on December 7.
"Nahuli siya sa violation ng RA 10050, ‘yung not wearing a helmet. Tapos noong in-approach ng pulis natin medyo naging unruly," says P/Supt. Wilson delos Santos, station commander of QCPD Station 7 in Cubao.
His odd behavior prompted the officers to frisk him and check his belongings. A sachet believed to contain shabu and other drug paraphernalia were confiscated from him.
"Nakuhanan siya ng isang plastic sachet na later, we found out na shabu nga ayon sa result ng laboratory namin. Positive for shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride," delos Santos confirms.
When Startalk dropped by the station where is currently detained, Anton refused to face the cameras.

But the director remains hopeful for Anton.
"I hope he tries to, ayusin ang sarili niya. I wish him the best. I will pray for him. Sana malampasan niya itong pagsubok na ito," he ends.
