The leads of the hit series Start-Up Ph, Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo, recently received nominations from the 5th Gawad Lasallianeta.
The award-giving body recognizes the most outstanding media communicators in the Philippines for being “the most effective and most influential communicators and best role models to the whole Lasallian community.”
Winners are recognized by the whole De La Salle Araneta University in an online survey among the staff, faculty, and students.
Start-Up PH received a nomination for the Most Outstanding Teleserye award, and will be competing against other Kapuso shows such as Maria Clara at Ibarra, Abot Kamay na Pangarap, former shows Lolong, and First Lady.
Its lead, Alden Richards, who plays Tristan “Good Boy” Hernandez, received the nomination for Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama series. Not only that but he was also nominated for the Most Influential Male Filipino Celebrity award.
Asia's Multimedia Star was also nominated for the Most Outstanding Brand Endorser award together with other Kapuso stars Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera. Marian is also a nominee for the Most Influential Female Filipino Celebrity award.
Bea Alonzo, who plays Danica “Dani” Sizon, meanwhile, will be battling it out with other Kapuso actresses for the Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama series award.
Both Alden and Bea have shown their acting prowess and have proven what they can do that even the executive producer of the original Start-Up series they've adapted from praised the two leads.
“Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo added their own charm to the characters,” Yu Sang-won said in an interview on Chika Minute.
He also praised the production of the series, saying that it is impressive and that GMA Entertainment Group “put in efforts to satisfy both the original fans and the local audience.”
