Quite a famous recipe from China, try this sumptuous dish. 


Ingredients:


1 can CDO liver spread
1⁄2 kg whole pork belly
1 cup soy sauce
1⁄2 cup brown sugar
2 pcs red onion (chopped)
2 Cloves garlic (crushed)
1 liter Stock
1 tsp whole pepper corn
3 pcs Star anise
8 pcs Shitake mushroom (rehydrated in water)
4 stalks bokchoy (Chinese cabbage)
5 stalks spring onion (cut into 1 1⁄2 inch length)

Procedure:

1. Season pork belly with salt and pepper
2. On a heated pot, sear pork belly until brown
3. Pour in stock and add CDO liver spread, soy sauce, brown sugar, red onion, garlic, pepper corns and anise
4. Let the mixture boil and let it simmer for one hour or until the pork is tender
5. Add in carrots and mushroom. Let it simmer until the carrots is cooked then add bokchoy
6. Cover the pot then turn off heat
7. Serve on top of rice, garnish with spring onions
